Students will learn tips to help them memorize information, stay organized, take notes, study for tests and take tests, and manage their time effectively. This course is designed to prepare students entering 6th through 9th grade for academic success. Middle School Success
Ms. Devoto, Hillview counselor, is planning grade level small group tutoring sessions for students entering grades 6, and 7. Also included in each session will be math review (individually based on students' math level), check in's on summer reading progress, and a writing prompt that will be evaluated and returned to students each week. Ms. Devoto will write the curriculum for the tutoring groups, critique the writing, and oversee the sessions, while the sessions themselves will be taught by college freshmen who will also share with the students the importance of responsibility, organization, and follow through for school success. Space is limited. Contact Debbie Devoto at debdevoto@yahoo.com for more information.
